Arctech Solar Shipped 46MWp Mounting Structure to First Solar’s Gunma Project in Japan

Arctech Solar recently provided 46MWp racking system to a solar power plant in Gunma, Japan. This marks the first round of large-scale project that Arctech Solar brings a fixed-mounting structure, which well-equipped for First Solar’s new Series 6 thin-film module, to the Japanese market.

This project is expected to start commercial operation in early 2019, and it will start power generation for local residents. Given the project is being set up on a golf course in hilly terrain, Arctech Solar supplied its single pole solution to this project. With the unique design of joints and adjustable connectors, the single pole structure can adapt well to N-S and E-W slopes. Thanks to its advantage of efficient factory pre-assembly and welding-free installation method at project site, the single pole solution brings significant economic value by minimizing the field installation labor cost.

“The Gunma Project will represent a significant installation of First Solar Series 6 modules in Japan and we congratulate Arctech Solar on the delivery of the mounting solution,” said James Buford, First Solar Japan Country Manager. “Arctech Solar has extensive experience in the PV solar industry and is a welcome addition to the strong group of supply partners assembled for this project.”

Mr. Guy Rong, president of Arctech Solar’s international business said: “We are pleased to collaborate with First Solar to develop Gunma project. It is a starting point of cooperation with our partners to deliver a great yields and cost-effective solution. In future, we will certainly committed to providing efficient and economic solar tracking and racking systems for strategic partners around the world.”
